Fundament ("we", "our", "us") operates the Fundament web application at getfundament.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our service.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We do not receive or store your Google password.

Usage Data. We collect information about how you use the app, including focus session durations, categories, goals, reflections you enter, and feature interactions. This data is tied to your account and stored in Firebase.

Google Calendar Data. If you grant calendar access, we read and write calendar events to help you schedule focus sessions. We only access events you create through Fundament and never read unrelated calendar data.

Analytics Data. We use Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics) to collect anonymous usage statistics such as page views, session counts, and feature adoption. You can opt out via the cookie consent banner.

Device Information. We automatically collect basic device data (browser type, operating system, screen size) for app compatibility and analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the Fundament service
• Personalize your experience (AI coaching, adaptive suggestions)
• Sync your focus sessions with Google Calendar
• Analyze usage patterns to improve the product
• Send important service updates (e.g., security notices)

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) servers. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use Firebase Security Rules to ensure users can only access their own data.

While we implement industry-standard security measures, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database, hosting
• Google Analytics (Firebase Analytics) — anonymous usage statistics
• Google Calendar API — calendar integration (with your explicit consent)
• Vercel — application hosting
• OpenAI / Anthropic APIs — AI coaching features (session context is sent for processing; no personal identifiers are included)

5. Google API Services User Data Policy

Fundament's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data stored in the app
• Export your data (contact us for a data export)
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Revoke Google Calendar access at any time through your Google Account settings
• Opt out of analytics via the cookie consent banner

8. Children's Privacy

Fundament is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover such data has been collected, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the effective date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
